What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Facilitate the procurement of insurance authorizations for procedures and post-operative care
- Validate authorizations and provide continuous education to the multi-disciplinary team
- Act as a centralized resource for assigned specialties to ensure standardized authorization procurement
- Communicate feedback from coding, billing, and denial management resources to promote continuous improvement
- Apply process improvement methodologies to enhance workflow and patient satisfaction
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School Diploma or equivalent, with 3-5 years of related experience or training
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a medical clinic setting or hospital environment
- Two years of experience related to healthcare insurance verification and/or billing
- Strong knowledge of clinical terminology and the ability to interpret RN or Physician notes
- Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Additional coursework in business, computers, or healthcare administration
- Experience in a medical or surgical specialty clinic
- Current knowledge of hospital operations, utilization management, and case management
- Understanding of revenue cycle processes including billing, coding, and charge capture
