      Position: Centralized Funding Team Lead

      Department: Member Contact Center

      Reports To: Centralized Funding Manager

      FLSA: Non-Exempt

      Summary

      Monitors and audits the pending loan queue to ensure loans are funded timely and accurately. Serves as the point of contact for escalated complaints, concerns or ideas for improvement in the Centralized Funding area.

      Supervisory Responsibilities

      Directly supervises lending support team members within the scope of responsibility. Responsibilities include; but are not limited to, training, assigning and directing work, evaluations, coaching, counseling, interviewing process, and recognition of team members.

      Essential Functions

      • Audits the pending funding queue on a regular basis to ensure loans are processed timely.
      • Forwards applications to the pending loan queue once missing documents are received.
      • Logs faxes/email/mail and loads documents received into the appropriate loan application.
      • Monitors eSignatures email, uploads completed DocuSign documents to the loan application, and forwards to the pending loan queue for booking.
      • Performs monthly reviews with Centralized Loan Processors regarding their performance and any areas where improvement is required.
      • Serves as point of contact Retail Management for problems, questions, concerns, complaints, and ideas for improvement regarding loan processing.
      • Reviews closed loans for accuracy.
      • Disburses loan funds as needed.
      • Runs Teller Totals/Check Register daily.
      • Develops work schedules, and approves or denies leave request which are implemented through direct reports, and proper channels. Maintains accurate attendance records.
      • Conducts interviews for the Consumer Loan Processor role.
      • Ensures the team members are properly trained in lending policies, procedures and regulations.
      • Monitors electronic correspondence channels such as; fax, message board, email, and web messages to ensure quality member service.
      • Uses Integrity Coaching skills to routinely and effectively coach staff to meet personal, departmental, and organizational goals, including documenting and tracking progress and results
      • Assists in the development of new projects and/or process improvements for the Centralized Funding, as needed.
      • Handles member complaints that are directed to the Centralized Funding department in a courteous, professional manner, including but not limited to investigating complaints, taking corrective action as needed, and resolving within the scope and authority of position.
      • Verifies all necessary information as required by KFCU policies and procedures.
      • Effectively uses the Synapsys CRM to create and monitor service events for members within Service Commitment timelines.
      • Adheres to Lending Policy and Guidelines; including the effective interpretation of VOI and VOE documentation.
      • In support of marketing campaigns, completes loan funding process for members and non-members.
      • Assigns and delegates daily work to Centralized Loan Processors.
      • Assists members and non-members with loan applications, loan closing questions, inquiries, loan disbursement, and required documentation as needed.
      • Maintains equipment and supplies necessary to keep the department working efficiently.
      • Receives, opens and makes required distribution of all departmental mail.
      • Utilizes Opening Act and/or Symitar to open and process new accounts, alternate shares, certificates of deposit, consumer loan and credit card applications.
      • Ensures team members meet established service and production goals for the Centralized Funding Department.
      • Maintains current exception report and provides accurate monthly tracking and production reports to manager in a timely manner.
      • Responsible for compliance with all Federal regulations including Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), and all credit union policies and procedures.
      • Accurately interprets the Fair Credit Act and the Privacy Act as they apply to credit unions.

      Education

      A two year college degree or equivalent; or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school; or completion of a specialized and extensive in-house training or apprenticeship program.

      Experience and Other Requirements

      • Three years to five years of similar or related experience.
      • Must exhibit a basic comprehension or arithmetic competency and possess basic clerical skills, including operating a PC.
      • Must possess an outgoing personality with a helpful attitude and well developed sales culture attitude toward credit union services and products.
      • Accuracy and attention to details required.
      • Punctuality and attendance are critical to this position.
      • Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
      • Second language preferred.
      • Must possess and maintain good interpersonal skills with members and other employees.
      • Must become familiar with all KFCU guidelines, policies and procedures, departments, and their relationship.
      • Must possess the ability to remain organized and stay focused during stressful periods of high loan demand.
      • Must possess an on-going ability to keep abreast of changing policies and procedures.
      • Must maintain confidentiality and display dependability.
      • Overtime may be required as work and circumstances require.
      • Satisfactory completion of New Hire Orientation, New Accounts, Teller, and Centralized Funding through the HR/Training Department required.
      • Must possess the ability to coach, motivate and train staff regarding sales and service in order to maintain an effective and efficient workflow aimed toward member satisfaction

      • Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for purposes of giving or obtaining information, building relationships, or soliciting cooperation.

      Computer Skills

      • Extensive use of personal PC required.
      • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, as well as use of internet and e-mail.

      Certificates, Licenses and Registrations

      • Completion of CUNA’s CPD Online courses as assigned and/or required
      • Completion of Integrity Coaching required within one year of hire date.
