- Serves as a liaison and resource between departments, internal and external customers on issues related to applications and screening.
- Partners with operations to understand applicant experience and workflows to enhance customer service while optimizing a screening approach for BH.
- Assist with screening process, offering instructions to internal and external customers based on set guidelines. Ensuring that the application and workflow are completed based on set guidelines.
- Ensures the identity, credit, civil and criminal history of applicants are screened accurately and compliant with applicable screening regulations at time of application.
- Using established screening guidelines, reviews background screenings provided by a 3rd party screening provider to determine discrepancies and refers potential fraud to compliance.
- Responsible for handling a significant number of inbound and outbound transactions by providing email-based support.
- Highlights potential deficiencies as related to screening and prepares reports for review; represents screening in cross-departmental workflow development or testing of software solutions with oversite from compliance.
- Consults with Compliance team when cases of compliance standards violations are discovered.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Strong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
- Ability to work independently, with minimal oversite.

- Minimum of three years of multifamily/property management or related experience

Qualifications
Position Summary:
The Centralized Screening Specialist is responsible for conducting background screenings through BH’s 3rd party screening provider, assisting with individual screening reports, and communication to applicants related to screening questions. Partnering with operations to understand applicant experience and workflows to optimize screening of applicants across BH’s portfolio. The Centralized Screening Specialist contributes to the overall compliance of the organization by ensuring applicable rules and regulations are followed. The Centralized Screening Specialist will provide prompt, timely and accurate service to internal and external customers. Represents the company in a professional and courteous manner.
