Position: Certified Medical AssistantLocation: Ancillary Robins AFBSchedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare examination rooms prior to patient’s arrival
• Assist with patient check-ins, admissions, discharges, transfers, and appointment scheduling
• Check patient’s vital signs, including temperature, respiration, pulse, weight, blood pressure, and pulse oximeter reading
• Obtain and document patient’s medical history, drug history, chief complaints, allergies, and vital signs
• Perform documentation and filing
• Administer screening tools/forms
• Enter patient demographic data, diagnosis, and departure time into the computer
• Perform diagnostic procedures when ordered
• Maintain examination room stock levels and perform routine maintenance
• Complete lab and x-ray requisitions according to clinic policies
• Answer telephones and emails
• Report changes in patient condition to medical staff
• Administer medications, including injections, under supervision
• Perform basic wound care and sterilize soiled equipment
• Other duties as assigned

Key Qualifications:

• Education: Certificate of completion from a certified nursing assistant program or a medical assistant training program accredited by CAAHEP or ABHES.
• Certification: Current certification by the American Association of Medical Assistants or registration by the American Medical Technologists.
• Experience: At least one year of experience as a Medical Assistant post-graduation.
• Basic Life Support Certification: Required.
