What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Read and interpret health record documentation to identify diagnoses and procedures impacting outpatient encounters
- Assess the adequacy of health record documentation to ensure support for assigned codes
- Assign accurate codes to diagnoses and procedures using ICD-10 and CPT coding classification systems
- Review and perform data charge entries for both hospital and physician patient accounting systems
- Organize daily work to prioritize assigned work queues effectively
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School Diploma or GED
- Understanding of CPT and ICD-10 coding systems
- Certification as CCA, CCS, CPC, RHIT, or RHIA
- Ability to apply knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and clinical disease processes to coding
- Must possess proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management
- Two (2) years of coding experience
