      Job Description

      As a Resort Mascot/Character Performer at Westgate Myrtle Beach, you’ll become the face (and heart) of our family-friendly entertainment. You’ll help bring excitement and joy to guests through fun, energetic appearances across the property—creating unforgettable memories, especially for our youngest guests. Whether welcoming families in the lobby or popping up at poolside events, you’ll embody our resort mascot with positivity and enthusiasm.

      Key Responsibilities:

      • Wear and perform in a full mascot costume, including head, arms, legs, and feet. (Fits heights from 5'0" to 5'10"; costume weighs up to 15 lbs.)

      • Stay in character with animated, non-verbal communication to entertain and delight guests.

      • Greet families warmly at check-in, roam the lobby, and surprise guests throughout the resort.

      • Appear at poolside parties, family events, holiday gatherings, and other guest-focused activities.

      • Take photos with guests, distribute balloons or treats, and assist with giveaways.

      • Visit popular resort areas including the pool deck, beach access, lobby, and event venues.

      • Act as a character handler when needed to help manage crowds and maintain guest safety.

      • Support lobby greets and guest check-in traffic during mascot downtime.

      • Adhere to Westgate’s service and performance standards, ensuring a consistent and fun guest experience.

      • Take on additional responsibilities as assigned by the entertainment or front desk team.

      Qualifications

      • Experience: Previous roles in guest services, hospitality, or performance preferred. Mascot or entertainment experience is a plus.

      • Education: High school diploma or GED.

      • Skills & Traits:

        • Friendly, outgoing, and energetic personality

        • Great with children and families

        • Able to stay in character using expressive, non-verbal cues

        • Physically comfortable wearing a mascot costume and performing in varying weather conditions

        • Punctual and dependable with strong time management

        • Able to lift up to 15 lbs and tolerate outdoor temperatures and humidity
