Job Description

- Supports the refinery safety process and maintains on the job safety vigilance
- Adhere to a flexible work schedule encompassing 8.5-hour day shifts and 12-hour rotating shifts, with potential assignments on weekends and holidays.
- Promptly respond to callouts and be available for holdovers as required.
- Operate a range of equipment, encompassing drum-un-heading, Coke Cutting, Overhead Bridge Crane, and loading systems.
- Safely and skillfully, operate front-end loaders (988 and 980) to efficiently load and stockpile coke.
- Execute daily inspections, complete essential PM paperwork, and conduct equipment maintenance, ensuring compliance with designated operating standards.
- Perform regular washing of coke spillage and conduct necessary environmental and regulatory assessments.
- Continuously monitor critical process variables, such as temperatures, pressures, and levels, to achieve production objectives.
- Collect, manage, and transport water and oil samples to the Laboratory for analysis.
- Fulfill additional responsibilities, including reviewing operating orders, meeting physical demands, successfully passing aptitude tests, and engaging in general housekeeping duties.
Basic Function
HF Sinclair Puget Sound Refinery located in Anacortes, WA is seeking a Coke Handling Operator who is responsible for learning the skills to operate in the Coke Handling Department. The Coke Handling Operator performs work as directed by supervision and follows written and oral instructions regarding the movement of Petroleum Coke at the Puget Sound Refinery. The Coke Handling Operator will direct and participate in operations of the assigned equipment in accordance with orders and minimal supervision, and will follow established procedures.

Experience
Previous Coke Handling Operator, Heavy Equipment Operator, or Mechanized Equipment experience preferred.
Education Level

Required Skills
Willingness to work nights, weekends, holidays and overtime. Willingness to work at heights, walk on high elevation grating and to walk up and down stairs. Willingness to work in confined spaces. Must be able to speak, read and write English. Reside within 60 miles of the site, or relocate without assistance to within 60 miles. Willingness to work outside in inclement weather. Must be willing to use safe lifting techniques to lift 50 pounds from the ground to waist level. Must be comfortable using computers in a work environment. Willingness to support HF Sinclair’s policy of a drug-free work environment.
Work Conditions
Field based. Petroleum refinery, out-of-doors environment, and driver based environment including but not limited to chemicals, pressure vessels, tanks, rotating equipment, exposure to the risk of electrical shock, and working in confined spaces. Subject to all temperatures.

Salary Range: The salary range includes the minimum and maximum base salary values. A candidate's offer can vary depending on differentiating factors, including but not limited to education, training, or experience.
This position has an hourly minimum of $34.41 and maximum of $50.74.
