- Responsible for initial interviews, tours, and testing (if required) of potential candidates.
- Model MWC values, policies, and procedures to help set up a dairy culture.
- Oversee new hire orientation, including informing them of safety and quality regulations.
- Develop and design training and train new and recently promoted employees in a variety of areas as necessary, including leadership training.
- Asses training impact
- Providing One-on-One Mentorship: In addition to group training, offer personalized support and mentoring for new employees
- Develop GPS plan and be the go-to person for GPS training
- Point person for GIFs, ensuring submission completion and coordination of the project improvements
- Develop, implement and maintain standard operational and working practices.
- Reviews production and operating reports and assists in resolving operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
- Inspects machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization
- Helps identify quality issues to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications
- Ensure adherence to the production schedule.
- Track and review throughput by maintaining a robust review process.
- Ensure effective communication process that drives sustained performance.
- Sustain inventories, ensuring full accuracy in the process.
- Assist with budgetary reports, analyze expenditure, and track budgets.
- Ensure troubleshooting capabilities are developed with all operators and maintenance personnel.
- Ensure after-hours response in the event of plant outage and emergencies
- Ensure all plant employees are responsible and accountable to maintain Glanbia GMP and site standards, which include FDA, USDA, and Michigan state standards.
- Be one of the points of contact in FDA, USDA and State of Michigan audits.
- Sustain the daily review and communication process to drive engagement and involvement among all plant employees.
- Conduct audits to ensure employees are performing tasks according to standards operating procedures (SOP).
- Demonstrate professionalism in verbal and written communication and behavior.
- Support Production management as necessary.
- Provide support for performance improvement activities.
- Maintain documentation of employee certifications and all information necessary for orientation, SOPs, etc.
- Assist with employee audits and performance evaluations.
- Utilizes GPS processes, driving zero losses, and upholds the culture of MWC and the non-negotiables.
- Compiles, stores, and retrieves production data
- Each employee shall comply with occupational safety and health standards and all rules, regulations, and orders issued pursuant to the Occupational Safety and Health Act which are applicable to his/her own actions and conduct.
- Complies with all applicable food safety regulations and mandates (Safe Quality Foods, Food and Drug Admin, Pasteurized Milk Ordinance)
- Requires a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of two year’s related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and potential candidates.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Proficient personal computer skills, including electronic mail, recording keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
- Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
- Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.
- Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or the Safety Department.
- Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.

The Opportunity
Provides training support to cheese operations in the form of interviewing and testing new hires, new hire orientation, certification of employees, provide support for plant management and human resources, identify and implement process optimization projects, training of new hires and internal movements, writing and updating SOP’s. This permanent position will report to the Cheese Plant Manager.
