ABOUT CHILDHAVEN
Seven years ago, Childhaven held up a mirror to itself and asked: What would we do differently if we made strategic decisions based on what advanced our vision and impact, as opposed to what simply advanced our organization? That simple yet profound question was born out of a feeling of being constructively dissatisfied with the status quo, and the fact that outcomes, at a population level, have not been improving -- especially for low income and families of color. This period of reflection led to a series of decisions and action that resulted in a period of extraordinary transformation, growth, and partnership, unlike anything previously experienced since the organization's founding in 1909.
By reviewing the Executive Summary of the Strategic Impact Plan (SIP) , you'll discover that the Childhaven of 2023 scarcely resembles the Childhaven of 2016. Today, Childhaven has the region's most comprehensive continuum of care for children and families who have experienced trauma and adversity. Their approach is built on the principles and practices of Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health and prioritizes authentic relationships with those who are served, the communities it works in, and other members of the ecosystem in which operates. Within Childhaven's Strategic Impact Plan you'll also discover a dynamic community-driven and evidence-informed plan that has strategies designed to:
