Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be the executive lead for quality and safety and will strategically collaborate with the Trust Board on issues relatingto patient safety and experience, infection prevention and control, clinical governance, and safeguarding.
You willwork proactively and collaboratively with local health and care systempartners in the development and delivery of the delivery plans across Lancashire & South Cumbria ICS,in order todeliver more integrated, sustainable, localised health and care services across the geographical area.
You willsupport the ongoing development of an organisational culture that effectively engages with colleagues, patients and the wider health and local community to improve clinical, quality and safety outcomes, including both patient and colleague experience.
You willactively promote equality,diversityand inclusion, taking a lead role in developing inclusive services for patients and service users (andcarers/relatives), including the provision of executive leadership to a designated inclusion network.
Youwillprovide leadership and support to the corporate and clinical governance teams, ensuring that all regulatory standards are met in line with best practice, ensuringefficient and effective systems and processes for clinical audit, patient experience, patient safety &effectivenessand quality & compliance within theTrust.
About us
We operatefrom three main hospitals-Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, andUlverstonCommunity Health Centre.
FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.
WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.
All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies,daycase and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
