- Add executive bandwidth, serving as a trusted advisor and business partner to SGO Leadership
- Build strategic alliances and work closely with SGO Leadership, serving as a liaison between staff, senior leaders and C-level executives
- Be SGO Leadership’s go-to for ad-hoc strategic requirements, ideas and future initiatives
- Connect the dots across all the happenings related to SGO, drive transparency, and foster open and honest dialogue regarding business performance, employee well-being, project updates, and strategic planning
- Facilitate cross-functional decision making and tactfully represent SGO when needed
- Ensure relevant members of the SGO Leadership team are prepared for meetings and interactions with external and internal stakeholders (e.g., staff, senior executives, regulators, investors, journalists, and board members), including drafting compelling written materials and providing sharp data analysis and metrics as necessary
- Identify and take on responsibility for the successful execution of high priority special projects which are important (and urgent), but not necessarily the responsibility of any one team
- Where required, design and implement lightweight processes that move the company forward and keep delivery on time, in budget, and high quality
- Experience with solid general management skills – strategy backgrounds from top tier consulting firms, BizOps backgrounds, and/or experience having previously run business functions (ideally in a regulated environment)
- Exceptional communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and inspire both internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to build relationships, adeptly navigate large organizations, and manage senior stakeholders and functional partners
- Experience in planning and leading strategic initiatives, with strong programme management skills
- Keenly analytical and structured in problem solving
- Maturity and lack of ego
- Entrepreneurial mindset, balancing the scrappiness of a startup with the process orientation of a large company
- A track record of driving outcomes in environments that require consensus building and influence
- Ability to think ahead, and see what’s coming by connecting the dots.
- Extreme comfort with ambiguity and driving change
