- Manage assigned counties' CFR Committees in the implementation of child death review process.
- Communicate compliance status update to all assigned CFR committees quarterly. Provide feedback and assist CFR committees to identify reported child deaths within their counties.
- Participate in monthly loacal CFR committe review meetings, provide feedback to local team during their meeting to strengthen their review process and foster critical thinking during reviews.
- Assist Local CFR committees with advocating for data-driven prevention initiatives in their communities.

- Participate in monthly CFR Unit staff meeting, and provide updates on assigned counties compliance, and discuss challenges and plans to assist team with improvement. Provide updates on special projects and or assigned counties’ projects whenever appropriate.
- Serve as primary contact and administrator for the state National Center for Fatality & Prevention (NCFRP). •
- Provide technical assistance to local CFR committees through system training of the NCFR database site.
- Maintain the Georgia NCFRP database. Complete quarterly data download from the NCFRP site, update internal id database with the NCFRP data and daily GBI death notification list as well as the CDSI notification sources as available.
- Assist and advise counties to develop, implement and improve programs related to CFR.
- Analyze child death data; develop and monitor responses; and represent the agency in interacting with stakeholders, other state agencies, and Social Service agency staff, as well as the public, and outside representatives.
- Conduct quality checks on all Georgia counties’ child death submitted cases/review factors contributing to deaths and assists counties in identifying and implementing appropriate prevention strategies.
- Plan, develop, coordinate, and facilitate CFR training statewide for State and county personnel annually, as well as needed for new committee members.
- Conduct monthly Coroner training on the CFR process.
- Assist District Attorney’s office to develop effective CFR Committee team development strategies within their Judicial Circuits.
- Provide expert assistance in the interpretation and application of CFR policies and procedures.
- Serves as primary liaison for external and internal customer inquiries regarding the CFR program, and data request.
- Coordinate programs with other providers from State, Federal, and community organizations to promote optimal implementation of prevention program services in the community.
- Attend conferences as identified, and complete relevant and required training as needed.
- Assist the CFR Unit with coordinating quarterly CFR Governor appointed Panel meeting, and present program updates as assigned during Panel meeting.
- Work closely with the CFR Unit Prevention Manager to identify data trends, and support prevention initiatives on county and state level.
- Collaborate with Vital Records Office to obtain child death certificate data.
- Conduct meetings specific to cleaning of annual report data with Epidemiologist and comparing/analyzing vital records date with CFR database to ensure accurate and consistent tracking of all child deaths in the state of Georgia.
- Collaborate with CFR Panel, and Epidemiologist to formulate and complete the CFR annual report.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or other related field from an accredited college or university AND four years of experience related to area of assignment. OR
- Master’s degree with two years of experience in public health or related field.
- Training development and experience in a human services environment.
- Demonstrated public speaking ability and professional writing skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Office, Power Point, Access., and excel.

(General Summary)
DHS is seeking a candidate for the position of Child Fatality Program Manager. This position will be assigned to and under the supervision of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, Child Fatality Review Unit at; 3121 Panthersville Road, Decatur, Georgia 30034. The selected candidate will develop, monitor, and evaluate Child Fatality Review program services for delivery by county CFR committees. The candidate will provide technical assistance, consultation, staff development and training to managers and staff, as well as consulting with other public and private agencies. Research the needs of the local community, evaluate the resources available for prevention services, analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing prevention services provided, coordinate with community partners to track progress and address challenges to successful fatality prevention programs. Contribute to the planning, development, and implementation of fatality prevention programs statewide. Evaluate county programs for compliance with state and/or federal guidelines. Collect and analyze data related to county performances. Advise counties on other areas including strategic and operational plans, policy clearances, grant applications, contracts, and resource needs.
