Job Description
- Req#: R-091888
- Preparation of 3D models for buildings and structures, using 3D modelling software.
- Develop GA drawings and detailed drawings from the model.
- Perform clash detection of models with other discipline models.
- Provide material quantity takeoffs (MTO’s) for estimating purposes or inclusion into bulk commodity purchases and
- installation contracts.
- Conduct operability and maintainability reviews, walkthroughs.
- Participate in 3D Model Reviews and Design Reviews.
- Participate in interdisciplinary and vendor document review.
- Complete structural Design and Layouts and details in accordance with Industry Practices.
- Inputs to task and deliverable scoping and estimates.
- Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure a timely and accurate flow of design information, while ensuring departmental and client standards are maintained.
- Attend site visits and field walkdowns as required.
- Diploma in Engineering Design and Drafting combined with relevant job experience.
- Six to ten years of experience (6 years for intermediate and min. of 10 years for senior position) working on nuclear plant project and/or conventional industrial plants.
- Four to eight years of experience in using modeling software (e.g. Tekla, Revit, AutoCAD 3D, SolidWorks, SmartPlant3D, Navisworks).
- Experience in 3D modelling tools (e.g. Tekla, Revit, AutoCAD 3D, SolidWorks, SmartPlant3D, Navisworks).
- Experience with structural drawing production from model.Knowledge of plant layout is an asset.
- Knowledge of industry and regulatory standards, regulations, and structural codes is an asset.
- In-depth knowledge of the modeling of building structural and Architectural system.
- Experience working in the nuclear industry is an asset.
- Strong planning, time management and organizational skills, with strong multi-tasking skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High fluency and proficiency in communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office-related software applications, i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
- Adaptability to change and thrives in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.
