      Where you will be based

      Sydney Local Health District’s Community Health Centres have a long and proud history of delivering care in the community including prevention, early intervention, assessment, treatment, health maintenance and continuing care services designed to improve and support the health and wellbeing of individuals and communities.
      Location of employment will vary between the Health Centres located at Croydon, Marrickville, Redfern, Canterbury, Zetland and Forest Lodge.


      About the role

      The purpose of an Environmental Services employee of the Sydney Local Health District Health Centres, is to provide an efficient and effective cleaning and waste service for patient and non-patient areas.


      We are looking for someone who

      • Has the ability to follow written and verbal instructions and directions, and work with a minimum of supervision.
      • Demonstrates suitable experience and ability to perform general cleaning duties including operation of motorised cleaning machinery and use of cleaning equipment.
      • Ideally holds a valid NSW Driver's Licence (P2 acceptable)

      About working for SLHD

      This is a Category A position. To be employed by NSW Health you are required to provide evidence of vaccination to comply with the NSW Health Occupational Assessment, Screening & Vaccination against Specified Infectious Diseases Policy (PD2023_022)

      All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course (2 doses) of a Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccine (except for the Janssen COVID-19 vaccine which is approved by the TGA as a single dose primary course). New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW. A NSW Health agency may require further information about the medical contraindication (including but not limited to an Immunisation Medical Exemption form – IM011 form).

      Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
