      Clerical Administrative Assistant I, II or III -Board of County Commissioner's Office - Goldendale, WA -Part-time 30 hr/week, Non Exempt - Grade 34, 35 or 36, Steps 1-3, $18.99-$22.62/Hr. DOQ. First review 6/27/2025. Open until filled.
      Performs a full range of intermediate level secretarial functions to contribute to efficient office operation within the department. Duties may include reception, clerical, and/or word processing, including composition and editing to prepare recurring correspondence, reports, tables and memoranda, composition of meeting minutes, responding to general questions regarding established department procedures, policies and services. Responsible to serve as Administrative Assistant III/Deputy Clerk of the Board by performing the statutory duties as set forth in the Revised Code of Washington as requested and/or in the absence of the Executive Secretary/Clerk of the Board.
      1. Serves as receptionist for the BOCC and department. Ability to work with public on a consistent, courteous and competent manner.
      2. Receives, screens and responds to visitors and telephone calls for the County and the Commissioners’ office; answer citizens and employee questions as appropriate; direct calls and individuals to the appropriate departments as required.
      3. Serve as backup to the Executive Secretary/Clerk of the Board in the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) office.
      4. Attend Commissioner meetings for the purpose of compiling and preparing minutes of the proceedings.
      5. Assist with the preparation of the weekly agendas for Commissioner meetings.
      6. Assist with the scheduling and coordination of Board appointments and meetings.
      7. Maintain an accurate data file of resolutions, ordinances, and contract numbers of documents approved by the Board; and perform required follow-up to ensure fully executed documents are on file.
      8. Receives accident/incident reports for submission to insurance providers.
      9. Receives sorts and reviews mail. Make decisions regarding routing and potential action or responses.
      10. Attend training seminar and/or classes held outside the County.
      11. Serve as alternate Clerk for the Board of Equalization.
      12. Assist the Chief Financial Officer with duties as assigned.
      • Knowledge of principles, practices, and techniques and related tools/equipment to accomplish the basic function of this position, including any safety and/or legal requirements. This may, but not necessarily, include specialized skills.
      • Must be able to accurately type a minimum of 65 words per minute.
      • Must possess excellent computer skills and the ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel and Access.
      • Any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the applicant with the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform this job. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be High school diploma or GED, and three years of responsible secretarial experience, with up to two-years of college or business school education substitutable year-for-year for secretarial experience
      • Valid state driver's license in state of residence
      • Specific positions may require specialized training or certification
