Job Description

- Prepare correspondence and reports and assist in processing documents promptly as required.
- Effectively communicate, answer telephone calls, take messages, and concisely provide information.
- Handle multiple projects simultaneously, and keep organized and accurate records.
- Handle sensitive information with discretion and exercise confidentiality.
- Work cooperatively with others.
- Manage various databases.
- Perform additional duties as instructed by the supervisor.
- High School Diploma or equivalency
- One (1) year of clerical/administrative experience in law enforcement, record management, dispatch, or a closely related field.
- Pass the Pre-employment HCSO Clerical Skills Test with a minimum overall score of 75% and score a typing speed of 35 W.P.M with 85% accuracy
- Must have a good attendance record.
- Present a professional image as a representative of the HCSO.
- Proficient in using standard office software programs such as MS Office Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Demonstrate exceptional language skills so that written and oral communications can be presented with proper grammar, spelling, punctuation, and clear understanding.
- Available to work overtime and/or varying duty hours as deemed necessary; an excellent attendance record.
- Bilingual - Spanish
- Associates Degree
- Knowledge of RMS, and JWEB
- 40 hours per week - Various shifts based on the position offered
- Possibly including Weekends and Holidays
- Overtime and varying duty hours as required
Under direct supervision of the Missing Persons Sergeant, the incumbent will assist investigators with contacting complainants, answering phones, managing cases for follow-up investigation, generating supplements, managing spreadsheets and databases, and organizing files.
