What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Educate and train CDI Specialists on essential duties and compliance with coding regulations
- Perform post-discharge reviews of medical records to ensure accurate reporting of patient acuity and severity
- Document findings and follow up on physician queries to ensure completeness of medical records
- Collaborate with CDI leadership and coding teams to identify training opportunities and conduct education sessions
- Participate in quality initiatives and audits to support department objectives
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Diploma in Nursing or Health Information Management, Associate's Degree, Bachelor's Degree, or Doctorate in Medicine (Required)
- Minimum of 3 years of CDI experience as a concurrent reviewer (Required)
- Extensive clinical knowledge and understanding of pathology/physiology (Required proficiency)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (Required proficiency)
- Registered Nurse (RN), RHIA, or RHIT certification, along with CCDS or CDIP certification (Required upon hire)
