What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Review medical records to ensure accuracy and completeness of clinical documentation
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to improve documentation quality
- Educate physicians on Clinical Documentation Integrity
- Work to improve accuracy and comprehensiveness of medical record documentation
- Meet operational and productivity standards
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Associate's Degree in a health-related field
- 2+ years in a CDI Specialist role
- 3+ years clinical and/or ICD-10 coding experience
- Thorough clinical skills and knowledge
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Bachelor's Degree in a health-related field
- Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS) or Clinical Documentation Improvement Practitioner (CDIP) certification
- Experience using clinical computer systems
