      What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
      - Review and ensure accurate assignment of ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes and ICD-10-PCS procedure codes in the electronic medical record (EMR)
      - Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize documentation accuracy and assign working DRGs
      - Validate codes assigned by computer-assisted coding software and revise based on clinical knowledge and documentation
      - Communicate discrepancies and coding concerns to appropriate departments while maintaining patient confidentiality
      - Develop and provide feedback and educational training for Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) teams and providers

      What is Required (Qualifications):
      - Minimum 5 years of coding experience in an inpatient hospital setting
      - Proficiency in ICD-10-CM/PCS medical coding and strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology
      - Bachelor's degree in a related field such as Business Administration, Health Care Administration, or Health Information Management is highly preferred
      - Certification as a Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), or Certified Inpatient Coder (CIC) is highly desired
      - Advanced technical skills in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint)

      - Ability to work independently and in a collaborative environment
      - Commitment to continuing education to maintain professional credentials
