      About the Opportunity

      The Clinical Informatics lead is a key member of the team holding both subject matter expertise within clinical IT applications, clinical or business in health, as well as key competencies related to project oversight and team management to ensure achievement of both portfolio and broader NSHA & IWK goals related to OPOR.

      The Clinical Informatics Lead has a fundamental role in the success of this complex, multi-organizational clinical transformation initiative. Their provision of critical consultative leadership, clinical informatics expertise, planning, and direction at the multi-health authority Program/Specialty Level and with all work streams, will ensure the scale and fundamental nature of clinical transformation required is understood.

      The Clinical Informatics Lead will support numerous working groups responsible for the development, adjudication and implementation of governance, evidence informed best practice and standardization within the clinical information system. The clinical informatics lead acts as a subject matter expert within their area(s) of specialty, as well as providing structure/framework, business analysis, project management support for working groups, initiatives, and projects.

      The Clinical Informatics Lead is responsible for providing oversight to support the implementation of this clinical information system. The Clinical Informatics Lead leads clinical teams through process design and reviews activities across the organization to ensure maximum benefits and enhancements are achieved.

      There are three (3) positions available:

      Clinical Informatics Lead, Critical Care

      Clinical Informatics Lead, Health Information Management

      Clinical Informatics Lead, Rehab Services/Neurology

      About You

      We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

      • Undergraduate degree or diploma in a technology or health related field. Consideration may be given to those with appropriate training and work experience.
      • Minimum of 3-5 years of recent experience in clinical informatics, proficient knowledge of healthcare industry required; familiarity with clinical and administrative hospital functions and departments preferred
      • Experience in working with patient care leaders
      • Strong understanding of clinical information/data and how these are managed, used and operationalized within the clinical information system to create knowledge.
      • Demonstrated knowledge and skill in the implementation of evidence-based practice in a clinical setting
      • Demonstrated leadership in clinical and policy change
      • Broad knowledge of the applicable standards of practice and guidelines for clinical practitioners
      • Broad knowledge of clinical process, workflows, clinical services delivery and patient/client satisfaction determinants. Demonstrated clinical informatics expertise, with the ability to apply systems and critical thinking
      • Ability to analyze highly complex systems and workflows
      • Demonstrates strategic, creative and strong analytical and organizational skills
      • Uses effective leadership, facilitation, communication and negotiation abilities to achieve consensus, resolve conflict, achieve desired outcomes and address potential barriers to success.

      About You Continued

      • Demonstrated ability to create and execute plans and ensure timelines are met while working with a variety of stakeholders
      • Exercises initiative, self-direction and problem solving abilities to identity gaps and opportunities for improvement. Strong analytical, organizational and problem solving skills with the ability to multi-task to meet tight deadlines
      • Demonstrated knowledge of Lean or related process improvement principles
      • CPHIMS, Project Management and change management certification would be considered an asset
      • Leadership experience (formal/informal)
      • Ability to execute through effective delegation, motivation and oversight
      • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
      • Excellent verbal, written communication and collaboration skills
      • Highly self-motivated, directed and change oriented
      • Ability to perform independently and manage workload appropriately
      • Demonstrated ability to utilize current computer applications (Microsoft Office, etc.) and computerized health care application(s)
      • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position
      • Travel around the province will be required

      Hours

      • Three Permanent, Full-time positions; 75 Hours Bi-weekly

      Compensation and Incentives

      $38.79 - $48.48 Hourly
