Job Description
- Req#: R1141162
- Work with the Medical Director to be the clinical lead for innovative products and services;
- Engage with the Clinical Leads and SME’s to make sure appropriate clinical expertise is used to inform products and services;
- Comfortable making independent decisions, escalating where necessary;
- To research, be up to date and knowledgeable about the latest clinical innovations, including novel health technologies and clinical testing relevant to Bupa’s health provision, and to communicate these to relevant parties within the business;
- Supporting Clinical Leads by contributing to policy and procedure creation for new products and services;
- Work with the Clinical Director and Operational Managers to ensure monitoring and reporting of clinical performance in relation to new innovative clinical products. Use clinical key performance indicators or patient reported outcome measures in line with corporate requirements for measuring organisational purpose;
- Ensure that new products and services are developed with key KPI’s or PROMS to allow clinical leads to oversee them going forward;
- Utilise and develop tools to ensure consistency of delivery of new clinical products across the network of clinics both Bupa clinics and partnerships;
- Support investigation and resolution of incidents and complaints relating to new clinical products, where appropriate;
- Full GMC registration with a licence to practice, with substantial post qualification clinical experience;
- GP, Occupational Health or Public Health Medicine background;
- Understanding of the complex healthcare landscape in the UK;
- Sound knowledge of the healthcare industry both private and NHS;
- Proven management experience, including strong leadership capabilities;
- Extensive, in-depth knowledge of CQC and other applicable regulatory standards and requirements;
- Strong influencing and negotiation skills;
- Practical experience of developing and enforcing quality standards within a clinical setting;
- Able to analyse statistical data and critically appraise research;
- Experience in using quality improvement activities to improve patient outcomes.

Role Overview
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Innovation Lead to join our Bupa Health Clinics Teams. The purpose of this role is to understand and engage in the delivery of the Bupa Health Clinics strategy in Clinical Innovation. This is a pivotal role which will lead the clinical elements of development and delivery of strategically important Clinical Product and service innovations.
The Clinical Innovation Lead will work alongside the product team to support new clinical product development that requires fast turnaround. New clinical product development will also include upgrading existing clinical products with new health technologies and tests.
You will be a reliable and trusted clinical voice within the business, to have high personal levels of commitment to business success, clinical excellence, integrity and always leading by example.
