      Job summary

      We are looking to recruit a Band 6 Clinical Lead to work on our Male Adult Mental Health Ward (Farnham Ward) at Lanchester Road Hospital

      The successful candidate will be a highly motivated individual who holds a current professional registration with the NMC and have completed a preceptorship program. You will be professionally accountable and responsible for the delivery of clinical care within the ward team with the focus on positive behavioural support to patients.

      This exciting and challenging role will afford the opportunity to work as part of a supportive team that is focused on delivering high standards of care through evidenced based practice. You will be in a key role within the team and alongside other members of the leadership team, ensuring the overall aims and purpose of the ward are clear and that patient safety is paramount.You will carry out assigned tasks involving direct care, and will be required to work rotational days, nights and weekend shifts.

      Main duties of the job

      Successful applicants will be working with patients on the male adult mental health inpatient ward providing clinical leadership to a core team of staff. The successful applicants should have a person centred value base, have skills in identifying strategies and plans for future care, maximizing individual's strengths and minimizing the impact of their needs on their daily lives.

      You will need excellent communication skills and be calm, confident and resilient in your approach. You will be expected to complete medication rounds, attend Report Out/MDT, liaise with MDT members re. patient care, liaise with other professionals involved in the patients care, attend ward formulations/reviews/discharge meetings. You will be part of the leadership team and will be required to support leadership with providing quality assurances for the care and treatment we provide in the form of audits, provision of clinical and management supervision. You will also need to provide leadership day to day to the team, support with decision making, complex issues, assessing ongoing risks.

      You will need to be able to form therapeutic relationships with people with mental health needs. You will be joining a team of highly skilled and committed individuals and will become part of the multi-disciplinary team.
