      About the role

      This position provides evidence-based assessment, case formulation and treatments to children and adolescents 5 years up to 18 years with severe and complex emotional disturbance/eating disorders, including young people with a diagnosable psychiatric disorder, who have not benefited from less intensive interventions. Treatments include discipline specific assessments and interventions within the discipline of Clinical Psychology and expert mental health interventions such as individual, family and group interventions.
      The primary purpose of this role is to provide quality, consumer focused and evidence based clinical psychology services for the clients referred to the CAMHS, in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team and to ensure optimal health outcomes for the consumers of these services.

      The clinician will participate in the evaluation of clinical outcomes of services, assist in the development and provision of education and training programs, and will be expected to supervise clinicians where appropriate.


      We are looking for someone who has
      • Post graduate degree in Clinical Psychology (Masters and/or Doctorate or PhD) and be fully registered with AHPRA and have endorsement or working towards endorsement as a clinical psychologist.
      • An understanding of and commitment to delivery of evidence-based clinical services to children and adolescents with moderate to severe mental health disorders.

      This is a temporary position until June 2025, with the potential to proceed to permanent after 2025.

        About working for SLHD

        This is a Category A position. To be employed by NSW Health you are required to provide evidence of vaccination to comply with the NSW Health Occupational Assessment, Screening & Vaccination against Specified Infectious Diseases Policy (PD2022_030)

        All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course of a COVID-19 vaccine which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
