**What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):**
- Support Principal Investigators (PIs) in the activation, execution, and management of clinical research studies
- Assist in assessing study feasibility, determining participation eligibility, and establishing clinical data collection guidelines
- Recruit patients/participants and perform complex activities related to data collection and analysis
- Drive study coordination and regulatory management, including participant recruitment and data processing
- Serve as a resource for the research team, providing expert advice on clinical research matters

**What is Required (Qualifications):**
- Active clinical licensure is required for direct duties performed by the Clinical Research Nurse
- Advanced understanding of clinical research management duties from initiation to closeout
- Current CITI credentials for Human Subjects Protections and Good Clinical Practice (GCP)
- Understanding of IRB requirements and adherence to Human Subjects protection regulations
- Ability to interpret and apply federal and state laws, regulations, and sponsor guidance accurately

**How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):**
- Experience as a lead research coordinator or in managing a central coordinator pool
- Additional sponsor GCP certifications and other mandatory competencies required by VCU and VCUHS
- Experience with multiple data capture/retrieval systems within healthcare delivery systems
- Background in clinical data management and documentation best practices
- Knowledge of ethical obligations related to clinical research activities
