What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Provide patient care by demonstrating knowledge of growth and development appropriate to the age of patients served
- Receive and respond to patient telephone requests under the direction of the physician, documenting all pertinent information in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
- Review and assess patient data, including clinical updates and laboratory results
- Implement physician/provider orders and provide patient education regarding medications, treatments, and dietary recommendations
- Schedule appointments and direct patients to higher levels of care when necessary, ensuring all information is documented in the EMR
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Graduation certificate from an accredited Medical Assistant program or an accredited nursing program
- Current certification/license as a Medical Assistant or active RN/LPN license in the state of employment
- Ability to work in a HIPAA compliant space with the necessary ergonomic needs
- Experience in a healthcare setting is preferred but not required
- Must be able to communicate effectively and maintain confidentiality in patient interactions
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Previous experience in a clinical setting or as a Medical Assistant
- Additional certifications in healthcare or nursing specialties
- Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team
