This role is eligible for the Corporate Office Dual Workplace Arrangement. This new way of work introduces a hybrid working model for Mediclinic Southern Africa (MCSA) Corporate Office employees. Eligible employees will be required to be in the office (25 Du Toit Street, Stellenbosch) for two scheduled days a week and the other three days will be worked from home.Please note if you are an internal employee on a fixed term contract please apply using an external candidate profile and not your employee profile
MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB
Provide clinical direction, leadership and take ownership for the implementation, maintenance and optimisation of an Electronic Health Record system, including other clinical technology applications, to deliver quality healthcare services within the division.
This person takes ownership to ensure the overall successful utilisation of information technology/ EHR-system to optimise patient care delivery in collaboration with doctors and clinical staff; in close collaboration with the divisional and Group clinical leadership.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS
Lead the identification, procurement, and support of an EHR system that meets the clinical end-user needs as well as Mediclinic’s clinical, operational and patient care needs in conjunction with the broader Health Informatics and Clinical team
Facilitate the planning and implementation of the EHR system and processes throughout the division
Ensure effective utilisation and optimisation of an EHR-system
Ensure compliance to legal and regulatory requirements
Build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships, specifically with employed and independent clinicians
REQUIRED EDUCATION
ESSENTIAL EDUCATION: MBChB or equivalent medical degree that would qualify for registration with the local medical council to practice as a medical practitioner. Degree/qualification in health informatics
DESIRED EDUCATION: Medical specialist qualification. Postgraduate qualification in Business Administration or Public Health
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: More than 5 years experience in a clinical setting in direct patient care after full registration
At least 3 years informatics experience with clinical information system implementation, support and optimisation within a hospital system
3 years experience in Healthcare management
User experience with clinical, hospital and/or financial applications/systems
DESIRED EXPERIENCE: Experience in at least one EHR installation in a multi-hospital group or multiple sites
South African private healthcare management and clinical practice experience
