      The Team
      The Ministry of Children and Family Development promotes and develops the capacity of families and communities to care for and protect vulnerable children and youth and supports healthy child and family development to maximize the potential of every child in BC. The team is responsible for regional delivery of services and programs that support positive and healthy outcomes for children, youth and their families.

      The Role
      The Team Assistant has a primary focus on providing day-to-day program support within the social services office. The Team Assistant reports to an Office Manager or Administrative Supervisor but receives direction almost all the time from social worker team leads, social workers, and social worker assistants, and the position is the point of contact for client intake. This position requires a greater job knowledge needed to provide program support in programs such as mental health, child protection, guardianship, adoption, or other programs either dedicated to one program or providing support to a broad number of programs.

      Qualifications:
      Education and Experience Requirements

      • Grade 12 graduation or equivalent
      • One (1) year of administrative support experience,
      • Six (6) months experience working in a computerized environment using various computer applications and data bases. (For example: Microsoft Office applications (Word Excel, Outlook, Lync) for word processing, spread sheeting, data entry, email and video teleconferencing; and case management or other database applications, . Consideration may be given for completion of an Administrative Business Skills course or program as experience equivalency.
      • Experience providing quality customer or client service, carrying out duties and responding to client needs in a professional manner.
      • Experience working independently and as a team member with a multi-disciplinary environment and with other professional staff, client and service providers.

      PREFERENCE MAY BE GIVEN TO APPLICANTS WITH THE FOLLOWING:

      • Administrative experience working with vulnerable children and families in a human/social services setting.
      • Experience using MCFD applications: Integrated Case Management (ICM) and/or Management Information Systems (MIS) computer applications.
      • Two (2) or more years of administrative support experience

      About this Position:
      This is a float position, successful applicants may be required to work from any office in the Service Delivery Area for “Float” positions. The Victoria Float team includes Colwood, Esquimalt, Saanichton, Saanich, Sooke and Victoria.
      An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and/or permanent vacancies.
      A Criminal Record Check (CRC) will be required.
      Flexible work options: this position may be able to work up to one (1) day at home per week as per an approved Telework Agreement.
      There are three (3) full-time permanent float positions and one (1) part-time (0.5) position located in Westshore available.
