What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Design, implement, and manage database structures in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.)
- Ensure database performance, security, and availability
- Develop and maintain backup and disaster recovery procedures
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot bottlenecks
- Collaborate with IT, development, and compliance teams to support business objectives
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- 4+ years of experience in database administration, focusing on cloud environments
- Proficiency with AWS; experience with other cloud platforms preferred (Azure, GCP)
- Strong understanding of database security practices and regulatory compliance (HIPAA, HITECH, PCI DSS)
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience managing large fleets of AWS RDS and Aurora databases in active production systems
- Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Database – Specialty)
- Experience in healthcare technology or with electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Familiarity with healthcare data standards and interoperability requirements
- Scripting skills (e.g., Python, Terraform) for automation and DevOps support
