  Job Title: Bioinformatics Cloud Engineer (No c2c)
  Location: Remote in the US

  JOB DESCRIPTION: Theoris is looking to hire a Bioinformatics experienced Cloud Engineer for a fully remote, long-term salaried with benefits position.
  
  RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage, monitor, and optimize secure data transfers using AWS services
  • Assist customers in setting up data pipelines, access controls, and automated transfer workflows
  • Troubleshoot transfer failures, connectivity issues, and permission-related problems
  • Use AWS CLI and Linux command line tools to manage infrastructure and resolve incidents
  • Maintain version control and configuration tracking using Git
  • Collaborate with customers to translate business and regulatory requirements into secure technical solutions
  • Identify and implement automation opportunities to improve operational efficiency
  • Ensure infrastructure and workflows meet security, audit, and compliance requirements in regulated environments
  • Manage, organize, and maintain technical documentation, including SOPs, runbooks, and customer-facing guides
  • Proofread and review documentation for technical accuracy, clarity, and compliance alignment
  
  REQUIREMENTS:
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Bioinformatics, Information Systems, or a related field
  • Bioinformatics background
  • Professional experience within pharmaceutical, biotech, or other regulated life sciences environments
  • Hands-on experience with AWS CLI
  • Practical experience with AWS services such as S3 and EC2
  • Strong Linux command-line proficiency
  • Experience with Git for version control
  • Customer-facing experience with the ability to clearly communicate technical concepts
  • Strong attention to detail, particularly when handling sensitive or regulated data
  • Demonstrated problem-solving ability with a proactive, ownership-driven mindset
  PREFERED SKILLS:
  • Experience with Terraform (Infrastructure as Code)
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Power Automate
  • Experience automating data workflows or infrastructure provisioning
  • Experience supporting GxP, HIPAA, or similar regulatory frameworks
