      Reporting into the Cloud Services Manager, The Cloud Services Lead is the Technical Leader in Cloud technology and services. This role will provide leadership for Qantas Cloud services on the full technical lifecycle, from enterprise strategy, people development, long-term roadmap, policies and implementation through to service assurance.

      The Cloud Services Lead is responsible for ensuring the group wide successful adoption of Qantas Cloud services. This role will lead a team of Cloud and DevOps engineers to deliver the service with high quality and efficiency. It is expected that this role will work with and manage Service Partners such as Amazon, Microsoft, TCS, Google, Oracle, IBM, and Amadeus to deliver Cloud technologies/products to the Qantas business.

      The Cloud Services Lead participate in 24x7 on-call support rotation and will oversee any projects or activities associated with delivering Qantas Cloud services, covering financial planning of both capital expenditure and operating budget, management of consumer demands, supplier performance, quality assurance and operational excellence. As Cloud is a relatively new and emerging technology in both the IT industry and Qantas, the Cloud Services Lead will play the role of a key evangelist to define, communicate and execute the strategy to educate the organisation and drive Cloud service adoption.

      While the focus on this role is providing technical leadership to the skilled team, we would expect the successful candidate to be able to execute some hands on aspects in the role as well as manage technical implementations.

      You’ll bring:

      • Strong demonstrated technology people leadership experience

      • Excellent analytical, critical thinking, problem resolution, decision-making skills

      • Proven capabilities in dealing with internal & external stakeholders with a strong customer focus to build effective working relationships at a senior level

      • Deep knowledge of Microsoft technologies including Azure, Windows Server, Active Directory and automation of software installations.

      • Windows server automation, scripting and SOE management.

      • Significant technical knowledge in the areas of hosting, integration, storage, network technologies, and DevOps and automation engineering, all of which are tightly coupled with the delivery of Cloud technology and services

      • Implementation of large-scale, high volume and high availability critical systems in Cloud environment such as Azure, Amazon Web Services, or Google Cloud

      • Architecture and design of cloud-based applications and infrastructure

      • Automated deployment technologies such as Puppet, Chef, Terraform and Ansible

      • Implementing and managing container technologies using Windows Containers, Docker, Kubernetes.

      • CI/CD methodology, processes and tools, such as Atlassian products, Jenkins, Maven, GitHub etc

      • Database experience with Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL or MongoDB

      • Monitoring tools such as Splunk and Datadog

      • OOP concepts and modern scripting languages and frameworks, previous software engineering experience would be highly desirable.

      • ITIL problem management and incident management processes

      • Production Support experience in Windows and Linux environments

      • Cloud security best practices, Enterprise architecture Assessment of emerging technology, frameworks, products and tools.
