      Destination Canada is looking for a Co-op, Global Marketing and Content to join our team in Vancouver as we inspire travellers to explore Canada.

      Supporting the Global Marketing team, this dynamic co-op role supports Destination Canada’s social media channels through a variety of content including video and audio.

      Under the guidance of the marketing manager and content specialist, this co-op role is responsible for supporting various teams to bring marketing programs to life that are traveller-centric, brand-aligned, innovative and effective. The role requires a keen desire to learn, curiosity about travel and/or tourism, a passion for content and marketing, the ability to work with a variety of stakeholders and excellent organization.

      Note: The successful candidate will be working under Destination Canada’s Hybrid Working Model. This model requires all employees to work 2-3 days/week in the office Vancouver office. The remainder of the work week can be spent working from a home office.

      DUTIES:

      • Supports Destination Canada’s social media channels through developing and executing content, including video and audio, across all consumer social platforms (including, but not limited to Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, etc.) to promote the Canada brand as well as the country as a travel destination
      • Supports community engagement, developing and delivering a brand voice to engage with an online community as well as influencers and brand advocates to increase reach, influence and love for Canada.
      • Assists the Global Marketing team with ongoing projects to successfully meet deadlines and handle administrative requests as required
      • Assist with monthly reporting by gathering data and presenting information to Destination Canada teams
      • Provide trade and media relations and public relations support, as needed
      • Analyzing and completing a competitor analysis

      Essential Qualifications

      EDUCATION:

      • Completion of the majority of courses to obtain a degree in a relevant field of study, marketing, economics, business or tourism management

      EXPERIENCE: When applying, the candidate must clearly demonstrate in writing how they meet the following experience criteria:

      • Experience creating marketing content and reports
      • Experience in managing multiple initiatives/activities simultaneously
      • Experience in working in marketing department
      • Preferably in the last year of a degree
      • Experience working in the tourism industry is an asset

      KNOWLEDGE:

      • Knowledge of digital and consumer marketing, media and public relations
      • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), G Suite (Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, Presentations), Canva, Facebook Business Manager, Instagram
      • Knowledge of project management best practices
      • Knowledge of marketing and content trends
      • Knowledge of the tourism sector is an asset

      ABILITIES:

      • Proficiency in social media creation and execution through various social media and other digital channels (researching, sourcing, writing, editing)
      • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including copywriting and editing
      • Solid organizational and multi-tasking skills, with a focus on prioritization
      • Ability to work under pressure with a high level of commitment to meeting deadlines.
      • Detail and result-oriented with the ability to embrace ambiguity, solve problems and provide quality work.
      • Understanding of digital marketing and social media best practices and measurement
      • Proactive team player with a high level of interpersonal and networking skills
      • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
