      Spark Balance is a short-term residential treatment program tailored for adolescents with a focus on neurodiversity. Our students grapple with challenges stemming from high-functioning Autism Spectrum Disorder and similar diagnoses.

      We are currently in search of vibrant and dedicated life coaches to enrich our team! As a life coach at Spark Balance, you'll engage with a diverse cohort of teenagers, guiding them in exploring their interests and maximizing their potential. You'll collaborate closely with them, either individually or in small groups, participating in various activities aimed at fostering life skills, goal setting, and nurturing confidence and resilience.

      Situated within The Heritage Community, based in Provo, UT, Spark Balance operates under the umbrella of a well-established non-profit 501(c)(3) treatment program. The Heritage Community has been serving its community since its inception in 1984.

      Schedule:

      Team 1 | Monday, Wednesday, Friday, 7 AM - 3 PM, one Sunday every 4 weeks
      Team 2 | Monday, Wednesday, Friday,, 2:30 - 10 PM, one Sunday every 4 weeks
      Team 3 | Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, 7 AM - 3 PM, one Sunday every 4 weeks
      Team 4 | Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, 2:30 - 10 PM, one Sunday every 4 weeks

      Knowledge and Abilities:

      • Demonstrated ability to successfully coach and mentor adolescents.
      • Assertiveness to learn and continually enhance knowledge and understanding of complex trauma and mental health.
      • Good energy and ability to work in all weather conditions.
      • Engaging and empathetic character, with the balance of tenacity and determination.
      • Good problem-solving, decisiveness, and teamwork skills.
      • Proficient in communication and interpersonal-relationship skills.

      Duties and Responsibilities:

      • Develop close, personal, and emotionally supportive relationships with the students to coach them in their treatment progression.
      • Implement clinical treatment plans as outlined by the Treatment Team.
      • Ensure that a healthy, comfortable, safe, and caregiving environment is maintained.
      • Participate in a wide variety of activities with the students, encouraging and supporting them to develop the skills associated with the tasks (i.e., sports, bike riding, rock climbing, hiking, swimming, etc.).
      • Properly use a variety of mediation and intervention techniques to redirect students who need support and guidance during escalated moments.
      • Transport the students to and from off-campus appointments and activities using company vehicles.

      Qualifications:

      • Must be at least 20 years of age or older to apply.
      • Physical ability to provide interventions, such as safety holds.
      • A valid Driver’s License, and no more than one traffic violation on a driving record in the past three years to be approved to transport students using company vehicles.
      • Proficiency and fluency in speaking, understanding, reading, and writing English.
