What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Compile daily work lists from the alert/edit system and resolve edits/alerts for various patient types
- Enter detailed notes in the eRequest system regarding unresolved alerts/edits
- Monitor aging accounts and prioritize aged accounts for timely resolution
- Collaborate with billing, revenue integrity, and Medicare Service Center teams to resolve issues
- Ensure compliance with all coding and billing regulations and guidelines
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum of 1 year of acute care outpatient coding experience
- 3 years of healthcare experience strongly preferred
- Certification required: CPC, RHIA, RHIT, and/or CCS
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT/HCPCS coding, and associated reimbursement
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with all key stakeholders
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management (HIM) or Health Information Technology (HIT)
- Experience with coding integrity and managing conflict effectively
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and other relevant software
- Demonstrated initiative in problem resolution and decision-making
