What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Code diagnostic and procedural information using ICD and CPT/HCPCS classification systems
- Collaborate with medical staff to obtain necessary documentation for accurate coding
- Maintain a productivity requirement and achieve a 96% or greater accuracy rate
- Review chart documentation for accurate diagnosis and procedure reporting
- Enter patient information into computerized medical record databases
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Completion of an approved coding program with AHIMA or AAPC approval status
- Minimum of 3 years of recent experience coding in an acute hospital setting
- Certification in coding (CCS, CIC, COC, RHIA, or RHIT) through AHIMA or AAPC
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to coding compliance
- Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment

- Experience with coding in outpatient and emergency department settings
- Demonstrated ability to work flexibly to ensure patient care
