      What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
      - Review and analyze clinical records to assign appropriate ICD-CM codes for billing purposes
      - Confer with clinical staff and physicians to clarify information in medical records
      - Provide coding support and training to ensure accuracy across departments
      - Assist in resolving coding issues that arise within the patient accounting departments
      - Communicate identified problems to the Department Manager for timely corrective actions

      What is Required (Qualifications):
      - High School Diploma or GED
      - Proficient in ICD-CM coding and medical terminology
      - Knowledge of anatomy/physiology, disease processes, pathophysiology, and pharmacology
      - Certification as a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) upon hire
      - Certification as a Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or Certified Coding Associate (CCA) upon hire

      How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
      - Experience in hospice or healthcare coding
      - Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
      - Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities
      - Familiarity with CMS, federal, and state regulations related to coding
      - Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
