What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Evaluate medical record documentation and coding to optimize reimbursement and ensure compliance with legal standards
- Interpret medical information to accurately assign and sequence ICD-9-CM and CPT codes
- Provide technical guidance to physicians and staff to resolve coding issues and discrepancies
- Audit clinical documentation to validate support for services rendered
- Research and analyze data to correct discrepancies and prevent future coding errors
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required
- Associate's Degree in Finance preferred
- Certified Professional Coder - American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) preferred
- Medical coding experience of 0-1 year preferred
- Proficiency in ICD-10, CPT®, HCPCS, and modifiers for coding professional fee services

- Ability to prioritize and organize work to meet strict deadlines
- Proficient with computer applications (MS Office etc.) and data entry skills
- Strong analytical skills to research and resolve issues effectively
