What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Assign accurate ICD-10-CM and CPT codes based on outpatient clinical documentation
- Resolve coding conflicts and claim edits to ensure accurate billing
- Monitor and resolve rejected accounts and uncoded reports
- Maintain productivity and accuracy standards
- Perform related clerical duties as required
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of formal coding educational program
- Coding certification from AHIMA or AAPC
- 1-2 years of experience in outpatient coding or billing
- Ability to meet established quality and productivity standards
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience with 3M 360 Finder software
- Familiarity with National Correct Code Initiative Edits
- Knowledge of Rhode Island Hospital Facility Coding Guidelines
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication skills
