What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Assign accurate CPT, ICD-10 codes, and modifiers on patient charts
- Audit coding for inpatient and outpatient behavioral health codes
- Provide accurate answers to queries related to coding
- Ensure compliance with medical coding guidelines and reimbursement policies
- Demonstrate knowledge of medical terminology to correctly assign diagnoses and procedures
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School Diploma required
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification required
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience in medical coding preferred
- Behavioral health experience required
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in a wide range of specialties, including pathology, E/M, radiology, and medicine
- Proficiency in using technology to enhance job performance
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and thoroughness
