What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Obtain pathology and operative reports from hospital systems
- Assign and sequence ICD diagnostic, procedural, and CPT codes to records
- Accurately enter code and charge information into the information system
- Resolve transmission errors and resubmit claims as necessary
- Support with new practice go-lives and provide front desk support post implementation
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum educational requirement: High school diploma
- One or more years of experience in a hospital and/or medical office setting
- Typing speed of 35+ words per minute
- Proficient knowledge of computer functions and operations
- Current Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification or ability to obtain within one year of hire date
