What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Manage assigned underwriting team, enforcing corporate and regional underwriting guidelines
- Implement effective underwriting practices and strategies to address profitability challenges
- Coordinate with underwriters and management in agency planning and review processes
- Develop and foster agency relationships while guiding underwriters and agents to achieve annual goals
- Monitor team performance and ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines and service directives
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree in insurance, business administration, or equivalent relevant experience
- Minimum of six years of commercial lines underwriting experience
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience
- Excellent knowledge of underwriting and risk analysis
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including effective public speaking
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- CPCU designation or other underwriting-related designations
- Proven problem-solving skills and decision-making ability
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and social media
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Ability to work on multiple projects while meeting deadlines
