Job Description

- Performs work in accordance to established processes and practices
- Complies with all internal and external requirements including but not limited to environmental, health and safety, fire protection
- Conducts regular inspection and preventative maintenance on commercial doors and related hardware
- Provides observations on conditions and deficiencies and suggestions for enhancements and repair
- Responds to routine and on-demand service requests
- Troubleshoots and resolves commercial door and related hardware issues
- Repairs, replaces and installs door hardware components
- Records resolution data applicable logs/service maintenance management database. Ensures work completed meets quality and contract response, and all other requirements
- Receives, tracks, monitors and reports status of maintenance work within applicable logs/service maintenance management database. Initiates documents to obtain formal approval of work required
- Ensures the manner in which work is performed is in compliant with corporate and legislated policies, procedures, practices and guidelines related to environmental, health and safety, and any other applicable requirements
- Maintains all assigned tools and arranges for repair and replacement where required
- Other duties as assigned
- Must be able to work shifts, be on-call and be available to respond to emergencies
- Must be willing to wear personal protective equipment
- 3 to 5 years of commercial door maintenance and repair work experience
- High school diploma plus trades training and certification, an asset
- Ability to adhere and to properly execute to processes and practices
- Ability to maintain and repair mechanical and electrical systems relating to doors and door hardware components
- Strong troubleshooting and resolution skills in order to resolve commercial door issues
- Possesses a strong environmental, health and safety mindset. Ability to perform work in a safe manner
- Strong client-service orientation with a high sense of urgency
- Effective communication skills for the purpose of data relay, exchange, feedback, and clarification
- Canadian Door Institute Certification, an asset

SUMMARY
The Commercial Overhead Door Technician is responsible for performing preventative and corrective maintenance, routine and on-demand services on commercial doors for multiple facilities. The successful candidate will have 5+ years of experience in servicing overhead doors, docks, dock levelers, gates, restraints, barrier arms, interior doors, fire doors, revolving doors, sensors, etc.

MINIMUM EDUCATION: High school education
JOB-RELATED EXPERIENCE: More than three years up to five years
