- Proficiency with website content management systems, such as WordPress, Drupal, Joomla, or comparable alternative.
- Strong understanding of SEO best practices, web analytics (e.g., Google Analytics), and web accessibility standards (WCAG).
- Demonstrated ability to create high-quality, engaging, SEO-friendly content, preferably in a government or public sector environment.
- Experience with email marketing platforms (e.g., Granicus, Sprout Social) is desirable.
- Familiarity with graphic design principles and tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) is a plus.
- Thorough working knowledge of equipment and requisite software applications relative to video production and motion graphics.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work under tight deadlines.
- Ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders, including elected officials, executives, community leaders, and residents across various cultural and socio-economic backgrounds, with varying levels of education and communication skills.

We're seeking a passionate and innovative Marketing and Communication Professional to spearhead the evolution of our online platforms. In this role, you'll take the lead in curating and managing digital content across various channels, with a primary focus on the County’s website to create a more engaging user experience. For the first time ever, we're bringing website management in-house, presenting a unique opportunity to shape the online identity of Kent County.
Your responsibilities will extend beyond mere maintenance; you'll be tasked with strategically developing the website to align with organizational objectives and effectively communicate our mission and values to the community. Moreover, you will lead the development of a comprehensive plan for crafting compelling digital stories that not only highlight the diverse talents and contributions of our team members but also showcase the invaluable services we provide to our community. Proficiency in video production and editing will be essential as we aim to further leverage this dynamic medium to convey impactful narratives.
As a key member of our team, you'll collaborate closely with cross-functional partners to ensure consistency in messaging and branding across all digital platforms.
