Overseeing the Editorial Requests team to provide guidance to the editors on style, tone, accuracy, and process for the various content the team receives for review
Taking the lead in editing certain content such as lateral partner bios, press releases, and Chair communications
Serve as primary backup for editing and assembling Morgan Lewis’s daily TODAY newsletter when the primary editor is out
“Overflow” editing of lawyer-authored articles, client alerts, blog posts, reports, and newsletters; lawyer bios; and firm, practice group, and departmental publications
Counseling internal clients on editorial standards and guidelines
Training new editors on editorial standards and processes
Keeping training materials current; working with the Senior Communications Manager to develop new training materials where necessary
Auditing and updating of firm-approved marketing materials and website information (e.g., firm accolades) as needed
Bachelor's Degree in English, Communications, Journalism, or related discipline
Prior law firm experience strongly preferred
Prior experience managing a team strongly preferred
Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in editing, writing, publishing, or journalism
Experience in professional/consulting services and/or the legal field preferred
Proficiency in MS-Office (MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel) required; proficiency in content management systems (e.g., Sharepoint, Social Chorus/Firstup, CustomerIO, and/or others a plus)

The Communications Manager must be able to both oversee a team and work independently with minimal supervision when necessary. This position requires strong supervisory/managerial, organizational, communication, and critical thinking skills in additional to exceptional proofreading, editing, and rewriting skills; attention to detail; ability to adapt to change and balance competing demands. The successful candidate will be able to effectively coordinate with team members across a broad range of legal practice areas and departments, including with lawyers at various levels.
The Communications Manager position offers a flexible, hybrid in-office/remote working arrangement and will be based in Morgan Lewis’s Philadelphia; Washington, DC; New York; or Boston offices.

For positions in New York, NY, the salary range for this job posting is: $113,580.00 - $181,728.00
The base salary or hourly wage range for this position will be determined during the interview process and will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to prior experience, relevant expertise, current business needs, and market factors. The final salary or hourly wages offered may be outside of this range based on other reasons and individual circumstances. Additionally, salary or hourly wages may be only part of the total compensation package. The total compensation package for this position may also include a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, the employee will be in an "at-will position" and the firm reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, firm or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
