What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Conduct interviews and research subjects for article development

- Develop news releases for public awareness and promotion of program research and events
- Assist in the development of publication graphics and layout
- Write short scripts for YouTube researcher summaries and create outreach materials
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Currently enrolled as a student in a writing or communications-related program
- Strong writing skills with the ability to create clear and engaging content
- Experience in researching and developing articles
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Must submit 3 writing samples, including examples of a press release and science writing
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Previous experience in writing for newsletters or scientific communication
- Familiarity with social media platforms and content creation
- Basic knowledge of environmental issues, such as harmful algal blooms and wetlands
