      Overview

      The Community Benefit Lead is responsible for providing compliance and regulatory project support for all community benefit programs, services, partnerships and initiatives to ensure compliance with federal and state, regulatory, tax requirements, corporate and departmental policies, procedures and regulations. Provides support for planning and implementation of compliance measurement, oversight, guidelines and reviews efforts that align with system-wide strategies. Works with Novant Health’s Regulatory, Tax, Legal, Internal Audit and Compliance departments to ensure community engagement’s alignment with their initiatives and directives. Engages Community Engagement, Health Equity, and system and facility leaders by conducting regular reviews and internal audits to inform, provide recommendations and keep entities compliant. Responsible for providing community benefit related subject matter expertise and maintaining current knowledge of community benefit regulations.

      Qualifications

      • Education: Bachelor's degree, required. Degree in public health, healthcare administration, business or related field
      • Experience: Minimum of two years of experience in compliance related to Regulatory, Tax and Legal issues specifically related to healthcare system operations, corporate social responsibility and community benefit, required. 2 years experience in process improvement, education, required.
      • Additional skills required:
        • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
        • Ability to work both independently without close oversight, and as a team player.
        • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop effective and collaborative working relationships with individuals representing a broad range of constituencies.
        • Ability to take initiative and to manage multiple tasks and projects at a time.
        • Identify, assess, review and implement current and future trends/practice in area of responsibility as it relates to regulatory, tax and governing standards, policies and procedures.
        • Familiarity with Community Benefit Inventory for Social Accountability (CBISA), or ability to learn and become administrator of, software required.
