      The Opportunity

      Our Community Relations Canada team is currently looking to add a Community Relations Liaison to the to support the maintenance of community relationships on behalf of our operating assets in northern Alberta, based in Grande Prairie , Edmonton, Calgar y, AB.

      Reporting to the Community Relations Manager, Canada, this position will support local outreach in support of several functional areas including Regional Operations and Pipeline Integrity, Public Awareness, Regional Emergency Preparedness and some capital projects. We are seeking a highly collaborative and motivated engagement professional who has knowledge and experience in community relations and energy industry best practices.

      What you will do

      • Support the development and the execution of community engagement plans and strategies to support operational priorities regionally, pipeline integrity and capital projects

      • Identify , build and maintain relationships with communities and key stakeholders including public officials and emergency responders

      • Work with internal clients to execute Public Awareness education strategies, support Regional Emergency Preparedness, and outreach on behalf of TC Energy’s Scholarship Program and Social Impact efforts

      • Be an active member of TC Energy’s Incident Management Team (IMT), responding to and supporting emergency response efforts and planning. This includes being deployed to the field, as required

      • Prepare and deliver presentations to external audiences on our corporate, project, and operations activities

      • Develop and implement event plans for local outreach (i.e. open houses, conferences, local community events)

      • Facilitate compliance with regulatory and permitting requirements for engagement

      • Complete all necessary engagement tracking and ensure data integrity within TC Energy’s record keeping systems

      • Understand and uphold all internal policies and processes relevant to the role

      Minimum Qualifications

      • Post-Secondary Degree in Political Science, Public Relations, Communications

      • An equivalent level of education and training aligned with community relations, negotiation, mediation or public engagement may be considered

      • 6 years of Community Engagement experience

      • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the capability to manage information and data on multiple levels

      • Proven knowledge of regulatory requirements and business drivers associated with community engagement goals and successful local relationship outcomes

      Preferred Qualifications

      • Strong professional/personal network within the region of work and the ability to continuously expand relationships

      • Previous experience in incident/crisis communication or emergency response

      • Ability to influence and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders

      • Demonstrated skills in facilitation, diplomacy, conflict resolution, problem solving and public speaking

      • Previous experience and a passion for working in the energy industry, familiarity with pipelines or large utility operations

      • Bilingual in French and English with the ability to provide verbal and written support to stakeholders in both languages fluently

      This position requires candidates to:

      • Have and maintain a valid driver's license and provide a driver's abstract (record) for review

      • Travel to other company locations for temporary assignments, meetings or training (estimated up to 30 -40 % of work schedule)

      • Work variable hours outside of a standard work schedule, as needed

      • Be part of an on-call rotation and provide emergency support as required
