What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Answer incoming calls and inquiries from the public using computer software
- Assess the needs of callers and provide appropriate resources
- Research information in databases to resolve customer issues
- Document interactions and maintain accurate records of calls and referrals
- Make outgoing follow-up calls when applicable
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Must be a current resident living in the state of Washington
- Minimum educational requirement: High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to conduct need assessments and make effective referrals
- Strong commitment to punctuality to maintain proper telephone coverage
- Ability to assist callers who are presenting life-threatening crises
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in a customer service role, particularly in crisis intervention or support
- Familiarity with using computerized information management systems
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- Ability to remain poised under pressure during back-to-back calls
- Passion for providing outstanding service
