What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Conduct comprehensive compliance audits and investigations across all affiliates
- Manage projects independently, including preparing governmental disclosures and facilitating external audits
- Develop and implement training programs to ensure compliance with coding, billing, and documentation practices
- Analyze compliance studies and perform risk assessments to identify opportunities for improvement
- Collaborate with management to keep them informed of regulatory changes and assist in compliance initiatives
What is Required (Qualifications):
- AAS or BS in Health Information Management or Health Care Administration, with experience in healthcare compliance
- Minimum five years of healthcare experience, including at least three years in health care compliance
- Extensive knowledge and experience with ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT code assignment
- Required certifications: RHIT, RHIA, CCS, CCS-P, or applicable AAPC certification
- Formal training in auditing preferred
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Five years of progressive healthcare coding experience
- Compliance Board Certification is a plus
- Relevant health care-related certification with experience may be considered in lieu of above certifications
