      Job Description

      The Compliance Officer is a part time role supporting the News Group, with a focus on CNBC Int’l. The role is to review and provide regulatory advice on news longform, entertainment, religious and sports programming. The Compliance Officer is an expert in UK broadcast and digital regulation and will flag any content that is problematic under related laws and regulations.

      KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

      • Programme Review of News longform (CNBC International/CNBC US) content (up to 4 hours per week)
        • Review all CNBC News longform evening and weekend programming for possible Ofcom breaches and communicate necessary edits to CNBC editorial staff.
      • Programme Review of Non-News Programming (10-15 hours per week)
        • Review religious, sport and entertainment programming for possible Ofcom breaches, and communicate any necessary edits to the CNBC editorial staff. Support work done by Ops teams on low risk compliance edits.

      Qualifications

      • Experience carrying out Ofcom Compliance Review for a UK broadcast or streaming channel (News channel experience is not essential but is preferred)
      • Self-starter. Good communication and interpersonal skills, approachable and reliable
      • Professional and calm manner
      • Strong team player with a proactive attitude and high degree of initiative
      • Strong time management, organisation, prioritisation and multi-tasking skills
      • Good knowledge of Microsoft applications including Word, Excel & PowerPoint
