- Actively supports, represents, and extends the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
- Completes all required documentation in a timely manner.
- Assists in family reunification and/or stabilization efforts with the youth’s primary family or other permanent living arrangement consistent with the youth’s case plan.
- Consistently achieves established productivity thresholds.
- Participates in the Continuous Quality Improvement activities on a monthly/quarterly basis.
- Completes Comprehensive Children and Family Assessments (CCFAs) to identify and report underlying issues affecting a child’s placement in foster care.
- Conducts in-depth interviews with parents and child regarding events leading to state custody.
- Determines family background, including relationships with extended family, mental health, history of substance abuse, etc.
- Identifies characteristics of the child, noting milestones met, developmental challenges and/or presenting behaviors.
- Catalogues parent’s, caregiver’s and child’s strengths and limitations.
- Interacts with multiple internal and external colleagues, including DFCS, court personnel, and probation/parole officers.
- Completes, if able, other DFCS assessments, such as Trauma; Substance Abuse (determination/recommendations for drug/alcohol abuse); Domestic Violence; and/or Home Evaluations (reviews of home, parenting and safety conditions for potential foster care parents/relatives).
- Flexibility to travel into communities to complete assessments.
- A Master's Degree in social work, counseling, or related field and license eligible.
- 2 or more years of prior work experience/training in industry accepted clinical assessment tools for mental health.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- CCFA Assessments: 2 years (Required)
- Documented experience working with at-risk children and families.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
- Must have a valid Georgia driver’s license, reliable transportation, automotive insurance, and a good driving record.
- A willingness to work flexible and non-traditional hours in the service of families of origin, and persons served.
- Capacity to be flexible and responsive to youth served, foster caregivers, system partners, and internal customers.
- Capacity to remain objective and professional in all areas of job function.
- Demonstrates tolerance and respect for the ideas and actions of others.
- Capacity to effectively work with and be respectful and sensitive to persons from various cultures, socioeconomic, ethnic, religious, and racial backgrounds.
- Proficient use of desktop and laptop computers, smart phones and tablets, printers, fax machines and photocopiers as well as software including word processing, spreadsheet and database programs.

We are looking for a contracted Comprehensive Child & Family Assessment Assessor (CCFA Assessor) to join our NYAP Savannah, GA team.
Position Summary
The CCFA Assessor provides individual and family assessments for DFCS. Assessor will develop a dynamic family picture of assessment impressions based on observation and demonstrated evidence. Assessor will communicate findings, or the inability to engage the client, and make recommendations for the child and parents.
